Translation

2 September 1638: I baptised Joannes de Wulf, son of Hermannus and Maria his wife. Godparents: Petrus de Wulf and Anna Malegar, wife of Petrus Verhilst (Verhelst) of Koekelare. The only record so far that ties a Dewulf to a Verhelst family outside Kortemark; Hermannus had a daughter baptised at Kortemark in January 1627, eighteen months before Judocus son of Jan Dewulf and Joanna Verhelst.
